Creditors are contacting my family and relatives. How can I stop this?

Creditors may reach out to your family, friends, or workplace as part of their collection efforts. It is advisable to inform your loved ones about your financial situation in advance, so they are aware and can support you through this challenging time. While you may not be able to stop collection agents from reaching your contacts, you can advise your contacts to avoid any commitments and giving in pressure, by stating “We are not aware of the loans. Please reach out to ____(you) directly.”
